In this farm guide you will learn the best and most efficient routes to farm Phaedrum Ore.
Phaedrum Ore is found exclusively in the Ardenweald zone in the Shadowlands.

You can farm all ores in Shadowlands with a skill of 1 or higher, but it is more efficient to farm it with a higher skill – the yield rate is much higher! If you have never mined ore before and want to know more about Shadowlands Mining, take a look at our mining leveling guide!

Tips for more comfortable ore farming

For faster mining of ores, you can put the enchantment Shadowlands Gathering on your gloves. This enchantment covers (for the first time) all farm professions at the same time and reduces the time needed to mine the ore. There is one exception: Unfortunately, Elethium Ore cannot be impressed by this at the moment (11/17/20).

With an item like the Mining Pick in your inventory (sold by distributor Au’til, who is on the left of the mining teacher in Oribos) you automatically have +10 more mining skill. This means a higher yield when mining ores at an earlier point.

Furthermore, it is a good idea to have a Comfortable riders barding for your mount. It is made by leatherworkers and prevents you from getting dazed while riding. A habit that many opponents in Shadowlands have and which can significantly increase farming time.

By the way: characters with tank specialization don’t need this equipment, they can’t be dazed anyway.

The Farm Routes and how to understand them

Basically the farm routes are kept quite simple – you can just follow them roughly. Especially in view of the fact that you can fly in Shadowlands sometime, they are not pixel exact, but bigger obstacles should not be in the way.

Red areas are areas where the enemy density is high. If you don’t feel like fighting, it’s best to avoid them and ride a bow around the area. Red areas with an exclamation mark in them are areas with enemies that can reveal stealth.

Farming Phaedrum Ore in Ardenweald

Phaedrum Ore is only found in Ardenweald. Most of the time you can enjoy your peace and quiet on the routes listed below. Red areas are rather unpleasant zones, which you can and should avoid if you don’t want to get involved in a fight.

Elethium Ore is found foremost in the Maw zone in the Shadowlands.

The Maw is the area for level 60 characters in Shadowlands. It is certainly not a nice area to farm, but it is the only one where you can reliably find elethium deposits.

Base-Items for Legendaries

This is not a guide for creating legendary items, but a few things may be mentioned:
With Level 60 (after you did some stuff for your covenant and rescued the rune carver) and when you reached Skill 100 in Tailoring, Leatherworking, Blacksmithing or Jewelcrafting, the Runecarver will give you a quest.

• The Vessels of Metal – Blacksmithing
• The Vessels of Jewels  – Jewelcrafting
• The Vessels of Leather and Bone – Leatherworking
• The Vessels of the Thread – Tailoring

You can finish this quest with your profession trainer in Oribos and learn the basic items rank 1 for your profession. Each basic has 4 ranks that will set the Legendary’s Itemlevel at the end. Of course, each rank requires more materials, but the item level will also increase. You have to work your way through these ranks first. Each rank requires 75 experience points before you can learn the next rank. The higher the rank of the item you create, the more experience you gain.

• Rank 1: Item level 190 – 5 experience points per craft
• Rank 2: Item level 210 – 10 experience points per craft
• Rank 3: Item level 225 – 15 experience points per craft
• Rank 4: Item level 235

This means you have to craft a rank 1 item 15 times to get rank 2.
Rank 2 items must be made 8 times. Rank 3 “only” 5 more times.

The numbers on the base item do not reflect the item level the Legendary will have at the moment (13.11.20).
However, the tooltip of the following items gives you information about the cost of production.

Pickings Ores in Shadowlands

You can learn Shadowlands Mining with a Level 50 character or higher from this trainer in Oribos:

• Excavationist Au’fer – Oribos, Hall of Shapes (40.4, 32.2)
  If you can’t find your trainer directly, you can also ask a city guard.

With the introduction of Battle for Azeroth, it is no longer necessary to skill the profession beyond past expansions. Simply visit your faction’s teacher, learn Shadowland Mining, and you can immediately start mining ores from the current expansion.

New Ores and Stones in Shadowlands

In the Shadowlands you can get the following reagents by mining:

• Verdunkelter Stein and Poröser Stein are by-products of picking ores.
• Zwielichtborke can only be yielded when picking Phaedrum Ore in Ardenweald

Shadowlands Mining: 1-150

Basically, the leveling process for this profession in Shadowlands is very simple: you learn the profession and go out into the world to knock ore. There are no ranks for ore deposits like in Battle for Azeroth, the higher the skill of the profession, the more ores there are. So don’t be put off by the low yield in the beginning. It will be more lucrative!

The clear allocation of (most) ores to their respective zones makes it relatively easy to farm specifically for a certain type of ore. It should be said that Bastion and Ardenweald are much easier to farm than Maldraxxus and especially Revendreth. Perhaps this will also be reflected in the price of ore.

If you are looking for Elethium Ore, you should go to the Maw, only there you can find reliable Elethium deposits (as of 11.11.20). In the four areas these occurrences are rather rare. Mining of other ores has sometimes brought to light some Elethium Ore (additionally).

With the introduction of Battle for Azeroth, it is no longer necessary to skill the profession beyond past expansions. Simply visit your faction’s teacher, learn Shadowlands Herbalism and you can immediately start picking herbs from the current expansion.

You can learn Shadowlands Herbalism with a Level 50 character or higher from this trainer in Oribos:

Shadowlands Herbalism: 1-150

Basically, the leveling process for this profession in Shadowlands is very simple: You learn the profession and go out into the world to pick flowers. There are no ranks for herbs like in Battle for Azeroth, the higher the skill of the profession, the more herbs there are. So don’t be put off by the low yield in the beginning. It will be more lucrative!

The clear assignment of (most) herbs to their respective zones makes it relatively easy to farm specifically according to a certain herb species. Bastion and Ardenweald are much easier to farm than Maldraxxus and especially Revendreth. Maybe this will also be reflected in the herb prices.

Gather herbs more efficient

• For faster herb gathering you can use the enchantment Shadowlands Gathering on your Gloves. This enchantment gathers (for the first time) all farming professions at the same time and reduces the time it takes to harvest.
• With the item Floraextraktionsgerät (sold by distributor Au’til, to the left of the Mining Teacher, opposite the Herbalism Teacher) in your inventory, you automatically have Herbalism +10, which previously meant a higher yield when picking herbs.
• As a druid you can pick herbs in the travel form.
• All other classes can use the Himmelsgolem to harvest herbs on a mount.
• When you use tank specialisation, you can not be dazed when mounted. Non-tank specialisation can use the new Mount
