Skin beasts in the Shadowlands
With the introduction of Battle for Azeroth, it is no longer necessary to skill the profession beyond past expansions. Simply visit the respective teacher in Shadowlands, learn Shadowlands Skinning, and you can immediately skin wildlife from the current expansion.
Shadowlands Skinning Trainer
You can learn Shadowlands Skinning with a Level 50 character or higher from this trainer in Oribos:
Flayer Au’khem – Oribos, Hall of Shapes (42.6, 27.6) If you can’t find your trainer, you can always ask a city guard.
Like herbalism and mining, skinning is a profession that is very easy to level. Just learn Shadowlands Skinning from the trainer and head out into the world, kill beasts and skin them!
For faster herb gathering you can use the enchantment Shadowlands Gathering on your Gloves. This enchantment gathers (for the first time) all farming professions at the same time and reduces the time it takes to harvest.
You can also buy a Skinning Knife and put it in your inventory. This item grants you +10 skill points on furriery and thus better results earlier.

Fishing in Shadowlands

Fishes in Shadowlands
As with herbs and ores, there is one species of fish to be fished in each zone and four species of fish that are assigned to specific zones and can only be caught there.
Keep in mind, however, that despite bait, the zone-specific fish can still only be fished there. Using a Pocked Bonefish Bait (which can only be fished in Maldraxxus) in Bastion does not help at all.
The New Fishing Pole
With Die Mittlerangel there is a new rod in Shadowlands, which is also sold by Au’nagl in Oribos. It grants you +15 fishing skill and increases the chance of finding bait.
The artifact fishing rod (Legion) can also be used for fishing in the Shadow Lands. The ability “Undercurrent” with which you can port yourself to a shoal does not work, though.
Bobber
In Shadowlands there are two Bobbers with an unique appearance. Orischwimmer has a chance to hop into your bag when fishing in the Shadowlands.
Fledermausfratzenschwimmer is a Toy you can find in Revendreth. In the southeast of the area (coordinates 73, 75) is the Forgotten Fishing Rod, which you can interact with. It will then confront you with the Rare Muckribbon, from which you can retrieve the toy. If you use the toy, your swimmer will have a much more threatening look when you are fishing!

Most important new features
Inscription scholars craft optional reagents – called Missives (of Mastery, Critical Strike, Haste and Versatility) – used by blacksmiths, jewelers, leatherworkers and tailors to determine the secondary stats of their created items.
You can also create Darkmoon cards again, this time even more targeted than ever before, using blank Darkmoon cards (example: Blank Card of Repose).

All in all I needed almost 900 herbs (200 Nightshade) to reach the maximum skill. So with ~1000 herbs you should be good to go.
25x Mass Mill – 500 Shadowlands Herbs (25x 20 herbs) I recommend Death Blossom, because they will probably be the cheapest as they can grow in any area, unlike other herbs.
From this point on you could continue to skill with Missives, they remain orange until Skill 85. From a gold-technical point of view, it makes more sense to go directly to the Darkmoon Cards, because they need only a few more inks but bring much more gold – especially at the beginning of the expansion.

All contracts grant reputation with specific factions when you complete a world quest. To buy the recipe for these contracts you have to be revered with the respective factions to buy them from their Quartermasters. They can be used with a friendly reputation with the respective faction. Contracts are always, but especially at the beginning of an expansion, a good source of income for this profession.

Darkmoon Cards
Being a tradition for years, darkmoon cards are produced with the help of inscription. Each set consists of 8 cards from 2 to 8 plus an ace. If you have a complete set you can create an iLvl 200 jewel with use effect (3 minutes cooldown). Especially in the initial phase of the expansion these cards are usually very expensive.

Leather Gear: Level 50+
These recipes have 1 slot for Optional Reagents (Itemlevel).
This is not a guide for creating legendary items, but a few things may be mentioned: With Level 60 (after you did some stuff for your covenant and rescued the rune carver) and when you reached Skill 100 in Tailoring, Leatherworking, Blacksmithing or Jewelcrafting, the Runecarver will give you a quest.
You can finish this quest with your profession trainer in Oribos and learn the basic items rank 1 for your profession. Each basic has 4 ranks that will set the Legendary’s Itemlevel at the end. Of course, each rank requires more materials, but the item level will also increase. You have to work your way through these ranks first. Each rank requires 75 experience points before you can learn the next rank. The higher the rank of the item you create, the more experience you gain.
This means you have to craft a rank 1 item 15 times to get rank 2. Rank 2 items must be made 8 times. Rank 3 “only” 5 more times.
The numbers on the base item do not reflect the item level the Legendary will have at the moment (13.11.20). However, the tooltip of the following items gives you information about the cost of production.
